Canada Summer Jobs: Marketing Content Creator

Hours 35 hours per week – 11 weeks: June 7 – August 20 8:30 – 4:30, 1 hour lunch

Rate: $18.00 / hour

Marketing Content Creator position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and as such, eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • A full-time student during the previous academic year
  • Returning to school full-time *in a postsecondary program for the next academic year
  • Feel this position is relevant to your field of study
  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of the employment
  • *Postsecondary students only are eligible for this position at the CMHF

Description:
The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) is a unique, national nonprofit organization located in London, Ontario that celebrates the accomplishments of Canada’s medical heroes and encourages young people to pursue careers in the health sciences through local and national education programs.

Are you a dynamic storyteller with a passion for developing creating social content? Do you enjoying thinking outside of the box to develop creative and innovative content? Are you fascinated by the inspirational stories of CMHF Laureates? Are you excited by a challenge? Our Marketing Content Coordinator will develop innovative strategies that will change the way people engage with the CMHF and the stories of our Laureates. This individual will be a reliable, friendly team player who will serve as an internal and external ambassador for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop TikTok or short social media video series on various health topics, discoveries etc.
  • Design a social media contest that engages our current followers, ideally one that encourages User Generated Content (UGC)
  • Write news stories on current health topics for website and or newsletters
  • Design marketing materials for CMHF Ambassador program QR Code for exhibit hall tours, linking to Laureate pages/website etc. Add social media handles to CRM
  • Design “Fun Fact” posters about Laureates & conduct outreach to local physicians to see if they will display in patient waiting areas Additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a minimum of one year postsecondary education in a media | information and technology, marketing or communications program
  • Well spoken and compelling on-air presence
  • Experience creating dynamic content for social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Tik Tok
  • Proficiency creating and editing Instagram Reels and TikTok videos
  • Willingness to serve as a CMHF personality for live video content our social media channels
  • Genuine interest and alignment with our mission, vision and values
  • Superior written and oral communication skills Ability to be self-directed and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, social media applications
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at all times during employment. The successful applicant will be offered employment conditional upon providing satisfactory proof that they are fully - vaccinated before the Start Date **
  • Consistent access to stable internet connection, laptop and workspace to attend online meetings
