COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
Hours 35 hours per week – 8 weeks: July 8 – August 30, 8:30 – 4:30 (hybrid)
Rate: $20.00 / hour
The Communications Assistant position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and as such, eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:
- legally entitled to work in Canada
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- a full-time student during the previous academic year
- returning to school full-time *in a postsecondary program for the next
- academic year
- feel this position is relevant to your field of study
- between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of the employment
*postsecondary students only are eligible for this position at the CMHF.

The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) is a unique, national nonprofit organization located in London, Ontario that celebrates the accomplishments of Canada’s medical heroes and encourages young people to pursue careers in the health sciences through local and national education programs.

Responsibilities:
- Virtual Hall (Website) – CMHF Laureate research:
- Audit, research and revise content for our Laureate pages on our website
- complete other Laureate page updates
- Assist with marketing efforts to increase knowledge about the CMHF across various communications channels
- Help create awareness about new youth education program with outreach to elementary school boards across the country
- Internal administrative functions
- Basic data entry related to our youth education programs
- Participate in social media content planning to promote our youth education programs
- Additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of postsecondary education completed in health sciences program, media | information and technology, marketing, communications or history of medicine
- Genuine interest and alignment with our mission, vision and values
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and social media applications
- Experience with basic video editing an asset.
- Consistent access to a stable internet connection, laptop and workspace to attend online meetings
