What happened after high school?

After high school, I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to work in healthcare. I decided to pursue a bachelor of health sciences degree at Western University. In my third year, I specialized in rehabilitation sciences and was exposed to the world of athletic injuries where I found my passion for sport rehab.

What do you remember from the Discovery Day event and what impact did it have on you?

I remember thinking I really like this school and I want to be a part of these labs and sit in these lecture halls one day. Even though I wasn’t sure of the exact path I would eventually take, I knew a broad education in health sciences would be an excellent place to start.

Any advice for high school students?

My advice would be to keep your options open and choose a degree or career in something you truly enjoy. My “dream” career path changed many times throughout high school and university but I knew health sciences would be open and lead me to something I’m passionate about.
