Agnes Bongers is Chief Communications Officer at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. She has led communication teams within Hamilton hospitals for more than a dozen years. Her award-winning team at St. Joe’s Hamilton focuses on finding new and innovative ways of communicating to fit the needs of the hospital and its people.
Prior to St. Joe’s Agnes was a Senior Leader, and then Manager of Media Relations and Digital Strategy, at Hamilton Health Sciences. Agnes was a journalist for about 25 years prior in print/digital media, many of those years with the Hamilton Spectator working as an editor and reporter. She covered most every beat through the years, including health care, and often in feature writing. She holds a Master of Communication Management with McMaster-Syracuse.
